Council issue warning over slippy roads today

first_imgDonegal County Council have warned that roads may remain slippy today following the cold snap last night in which temperatures plummeted to -3. Similar temperatures are expected tonight, with freezing fog returning with lows of -3 and highs of +2.Donegal County Council gritters have been out since 6 this morning on roads throughout the county. Caution is encouraged as there may be black ice on the roads. The Council urge drivers to assume that “no road is ice-free”.#SlippyRoads this morning. Ice formed on many roads. Drivers should drive with extra care.— RoadsDCC (@RoadsDCC) November 20, 2016Met Eireann report that tonight “apart from a few showers near the north coast, it will be dry tonight, but very cold with a widespread frost and with freezing fog returning.
