Speaker of the National Council of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland, Christa Markwalder today noted the importance of Constitutional reforms in Sri Lanka. She told reporters in Kandy that the consultation process to draft a new Constitution in Sri Lanka will help gather the views of all parties, including civil society. Markwalder also said that Switzerland has a good economic relationship with Sri Lanka yet there is room for improvement. (Colombo Gazette) “I wish Sri Lanka a very successful Constitutional drafting process,” she added.She also noted that Sri Lanka and Switzerland have a good relationship especially since there is a large Sri Lankan community in Switzerland. Markwalder said she had been briefed on the Constitutional reforms process during her meetings with the Government.

Kira Weidle of Germany wound up third in a race that was missing Lindsey Vonn, who’s recovering from a training crash that injured her knee. Although she planned to retire after the season, Vonn posted Friday that she intends to race at Lake Louise in 2019-20. It’s her favourite venue.Schmidofer’s best World Cup finish before Friday was second in a super-G race on Jan. 20, 2013, in Italy.
