Source = ETB News: P.T. Qantas superseded Virgin Australia and Tiger Airways for the fourth consecutive year, while Jetstar was the worst domestic performer during the financial year till 30 June 2013, news.com.au reported. “We’ve been quite upfront that our on-time performance is not where we would expect it to be,” Jetstar spokesperson Michael Scott said. The best on-time arrivals route? Adelaide to Gold Coast. The worst? Proserpine to Brisbane. When it came to regional carriers, Regional Express delivered an on-time performance rate of 86 percent, with Virgin, QantasLink and Skywest following behind in that order. Qantas’ on-time record tarnished by subsidiary Jetstar’s poor performance. The findings were delivered by the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport and Regional Economics. Despite Qantas taking out the top title for most on-time arrivals and departures, its low-cost subsidiary Jetstar was the least punctual airline. The best on-time departures route? Adelaide to Port Lincoln. The worst? Hamilton Island to Sydney. “It’s encouraging that some recent changes, such as the increased use of dual door boarding and refinements to our schedule, have led to improved performance over the past few months.”last_img
