Post Pulwama Red Rose campaign to spread awareness

first_imgKolkata: Educationists, students along with people from all walks of life on Saturday condemned the Pulwama incident in which 40 CRPF jawans laid down their lives and the subsequent attack on the Kashmiris that is taking place at various pockets in the state and in India. To create awareness, they have launched red rose online campaign amongst the people.The campaign read “Soldiers, students and all peace-loving people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari are equally precious. # live and love Red Rose Campaign.” Also Read – Bose & Gandhi: More similar than apart, says Sugata BoseThe participants alleged that after the incident in Pulwama, some people with vested interests are trying to divide society. There have been several incidents of violence throughout the country including Bengal. A Kashmiri doctor was attacked by some youths in Park Circus area recently. Later, the police got in touch with the doctor and provided every help. Anuj Sharma, Commissioner of Kolkata Police, after resuming office on Tuesday had said that the Kashmiris are safe in Kolkata and urged people to inform the cops if they spot people threatening them. The students felt that only through an intense campaign the attitude of people can be changed. They added that they would approach the student community throughout the country and urge them to join the ‘Red Rose campaign’ to set up a better and secure society.last_img
