About 500 special needs kids and adults will fish the pond on Friday, and about 2,500 children aged 5 to 14 will attend the event on Saturday.The Klineline Kids Fishing nonprofit will hold the event with the help of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Clark Public Utilities, Fire District 6, local businesses, sport fishing groups, and hundreds of volunteers.Klineline Pond is in the Salmon Creek Regional Park at 1112 NE 117th St.The pond will close to public fishing April 10 at noon to allow the fish to acclimate to the pond, and to set up the event. Block nets will be set in the pond to contain the rainbow trout and make it easier for the kids to catch the fish.Children should check in to the registration table a half hour before the event. They will be given a fishing rod, terminal gear, and a t-shirt. Bait will be provided, and volunteers will be available to help the kids. The kids will fish in 45-minute shifts starting at 8 am.
