The Supervisory Board of the largest Croatian tourist company Valamar Riviere has approved the investment cycle for 2020, which will bring the total investment in Valamar’s destinations, including the investments of Imperial Riviere, to HRK 826 million in 2020. In the Poreč zone, Pical Valamar will make investments in the total amount of HRK 2021 billion by 1,5, which includes the Pinea Hotel, the largest single investment in Croatian tourism worth a total of HRK 790 million, the construction of which began this fall. Among the more significant investments this winter will also be repositioned Valamar Parentino 4 * (ex Valamar Zagreb) with an expanded offer of accommodation and services for families. “In a season marked by stagnant tourist demand, we continued to grow strongly under the influence of significant investments in the past period. The announced investment cycle for Valamar represents the beginning of a new strategic period until 2022, in which the focus will continue to be on investments in the development of the tourism portfolio, destinations and employees in a socially responsible and sustainable manner.”, Said Željko Kukurin, President of the Management Board of Valamar Riviera. Next year, Valamar is completing a large project of repositioning the Istra Premium Camping Resort in Funtana into the first 5-star camping resort in Istria, which will bring the total three-year investment in the camp to around HRK 413 million. Investments continue in Padova Premium Camping Resort on the island of Rab, Valamar Meteor Hotel in Makarska, Valamar House in Dubrovnik for seasonal employees, energy efficiency and digitalization projects. Investment projects in 2020 are a continuation of the investment strategy in repositioning the portfolio towards high value-added offers and services, and Valamar Riviera has so far invested almost HRK 6 billion in tourism, making it one of the largest investors in Croatia and the region.
